Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

Since a recent update, it is now impossible to select a user account
with just the keyboard.

Prior to a recent update I could hit return or use tab to move the
focus, hence "Return, [password]" got me into my account.

Now tab, return, cursor keys and other likely keyboard candidates are
not working for me. I must use the mouse to select my user account.
