I turned off Beryl, and set it back to Metacity. I added Tomboy to the panel again. IMMEDIATELY, almost half of the things on my panel disappeared. Sticky notes, weather, process monitory, and notification area are all that's left. Menus, clock, log off, and (of course) Tomboy, are not there. It's blank where they should be. The panel does not respond. I can't remove Tomboy because I can't see it. I also can't even close that little "add to panel" window.
