Public bug reported: Im not sure if it's the latest updates to compiz that did this or the latest updates to xorg however I know it was working fine yesterday. After updating today, I can no longer use compiz. To try and diagnose I tried 'SKIP_CHECKS=yes compiz' in a terminal and this is what it gave me:
Checking for Xgl: not present. xset q doesn't reveal the location of the log file. Using fallback /var/log/Xorg.0.log Detected PCI ID for VGA: Checking for texture_from_pixmap: not present. Trying again with indirect rendering: Checking for texture_from_pixmap: not present. SKIP_CHECKS is yes, so continuing despite problems. Checking for Software Rasterizer: Not present.
