I've upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 Beta and I have the same problem with
PCManfm version 0.5.1+svn20090607-1 (installed from Ubuntu repository).
Before upgrading Ubuntu, PCManfm works well (version 0.5-3 of Ubuntu
repository). In Thunar file manager mime types are displayed properly.
Linux kernel is 2.6.31-13-generic i686.
