I can confirm this on my XPS M1330 as well, but it will sometimes happen when the lid is closed and opened.
I came across a workaround while trying to diagnose it: 0) First know that Ctrl-Alt-F7 brings you back to your X session (I've seen people get stuck in terminal mode) 1) Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1 to take you to a plain terminal. 2) Optional: run "showkey" to see if it's repeating key 113 (Mute). In my case, it showed nothing unusual but... 3) Ctrl-Alt-F7 to switch back to X. When I got back to X, the problem had resolved. I *hate* Heisenbugs, but workarounds are nice :) (Incidentally, showkeys is a useful tool for debugging this and other softkey issues. Give it a whirl.) -- Jaunty: volume control freaks out when resuming from sleep https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363936 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
