Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: usb-creator

Starting with a USB stick without a valid partition table, I selected the
device and click the Format button. The device is then partitioned. I see the
partition listed with sfdisk -l , for example as type
W95 FAT32 (LBA)
usb-creator never recognizes the device as formatted. Once I did see that the
partition on the device was listed in the device selection frame. Formatting
the partition caused it to disappear in the frame. It is unable to recognize
the device as formatted, even upon restart of the program.
