The problem I am facing is that I want to install clamav and spamassassin with my postfix installation. The howto procedure said I had to install fam for this. Unfortunately I had to roll back because fam cause the desinstallation of many desktop applications. Now I am running without clamav, etc. It is probably a coincidence, but I just received a virus. So I do have an urgent need to install clamav, spamassassin. If you can tell me the procedure to install clamav, spamassassin with amavis-new and postfix and would be totally happy. Whether it is with fam or gaim is not relevant form me. Since I have no clue if both can be transparently switched, I didn't install anything. The removal of my desktop applications was a bit traumatic and I would prefer avoiding to experience it again.
