*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 3731 *** With Ubuntu 6.10 I have a similar problem, except that on initial iinstall, I'm limited to 800x600 and 640x480. For some unknown reason, if I did a restart from my XP using maximum resolution, the full range of screen resolutions became available. If I tried to install from a cold boot, I was limited to those above. My screen is a Samsung 192N. See attached xorg.0.log file.
