Could you please try again with version 1.4.5-0ubuntu4 ? It looks to me from http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/a/amarok/amarok_1.4.5-0ubuntu4.diff.gz that --with-libmtp has been enabled now.
