*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 420015 ***

My system was already updated when reported the bug, and while I've done
an "apt-get update ; apt-get dist-upgrade" since, I haven't seen
anything cups/udev/etc. related come in.

I'd previously tried most of what was present in #420015 to no effect,
but I've re-visited the thread there, verified that the suggestions
there don't solve my problem, and I've posted the requested output in
that thread.

I'm wondering whether is hinted at in the dmesg output below, wherein I
turn the printer off, and then on:

[71725.855070] usb 1-2: usbfs: interface 0 claimed by usb-storage while 'usb'
sets config #1
[72207.592101] usb 1-2: usbfs: interface 0 claimed by usb-storage while 'usb'

[72668.280149] scsi12 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices

[72673.298289] sd 12:0:0:0: [sdd] Attached SCSI removable disk

No hint here that it's a printer. And yet, it worked before.

If you still think this bug is a dupe, I'll carry on in #420015.
