Public bug reported: On Ubuntu Karmic beta1: If the package ganglia-monitor-3.1.2-2 is installed after gmetad-3.1.2-2, gmetad won't start anymore due to wrong ownership of /var/lib/ganglia/rrds: /usr/sbin/gmetad[11457]: Please make sure that /var/lib/ganglia/rrds is owned by nobody
Gmetad should use the user 'ganglia' for directory ownership as the package ganglia-monitor does. Fix: change the ownership of /var/lib/ganglia/rrds from nobody to ganglia and set the config option "setuid_username" in /etc/ganglia/gmetad.conf to "ganglia". ** Affects: ganglia (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gmetad doesn't start after installation of ganglia-monitor (gmond) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/444485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
