Sorry guys, same issue here, and it's been bugging me for the past few
days:

Error loading address book.
This address book cannot be opened. This either means that an incorrect URI
was entered, or the server is unreachable.
Detailed error message: Other error

The debug log does not mean much to me but here it is:
#evolution --force-shutdown; GOOGLE_BACKEND_DEBUG=1 ;
/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-data-server-2.26

I removed and added a new Address book of Google type, and when press it I get
the "Error loading address book."

 + google://sergio.r.cre...@gmail.com
 => 0x6f81e0
impl_GNOME_Evolution_Addressbook_Book_open (0x6f81e0)

Easily reproduced in my system if you need any further logs please let
me know...

I can't open calendars also it is always asking me for the password, debug log
says:
(evolution-data-server-2.26:10864): libecalbackendgoogle-CRITICAL **:
e-cal-backend-google-utils.c:307, Authentication Failed

The strangest thing is that it was working one week ago, this is my
first time with ubuntu, and definitly not a good start... :)

See ya
