Hi!

I'm using Debian Lenny and I really needed this bug fixed, so I spent
quite a number of hours digging into Evolution until I found a way. I'm
attaching the diff I made for the Debian package, I'm not sure if it'll
be useful for ubuntu or for which versions of ubuntu it'd be useful,
because evolution's files keep changing (more than the usual app), but I
didn't want my work to be only for me, so I decided to attach it here,
in case anyone else needs it.

It's a patch for Debian Lenny's 2.22 version, that allows the search bar
to shrink more (half of the current minimum size) and also allows it to
expand to fill any empty space. Thus, evo looks good from 800x600 to
1280x1024.

** Attachment added: "Make the search-bar have a smaller minimum size and allow
it to grow as much as needed. For Debian Lenny 2.22's version."
