I have a single 2TB SATA drive. I experienced the same error message as above although I cant really use most of the suggested workarounds.
My workaround involved manually creating a /boot partition of around 100MB at the beginning of the disk. Unsure if this is related. Either way, the installer needs to understand the limitations of boot loaders. FWIW, my bios is post y2k.
