Hi. I followed a suggestion in ubuntuforum to disable echo NO_NEW_FAIR_SLEEPERS, due to system speed issue, after doing so and rebooting, all the sudden i got everything fixed. speed is A OK, desktop effects are back and no blank screen issue! I did nothing else that might have fix that so my best guess is that it is related some how. please check and confirm. anyway it seem to have done the trick for me. cheers
