Chris, I tried as you told. I still have the problem with OO 3.1.1. I also tried OO 3.1.1. under Windows: same thing. What makes me wonder is that not only the current version of the file, the one I was working on, can no longer be opened, but all the older versions of the file too. This seems to indicate that it was not the file that got corrupted but rather OO or the OS. Because the same problem occurs under Ubuntu and Windows I do assume that OO changed in some way that resulted in the problem. Would it not be necessary to install a previous version of OO?
