I've gone ahead and marked bug 389040 as a duplicate of this bug as
well.
Manoj, if you don't mind, I'm also going to submit this for a Jaunty SRU
as the reporter/subscribers in bug 3890404 need this fixed for Jaunty as
well.
Joey, Manoj, since you guys have access to the actual hardware, care to
open a new bug (using ubuntu-bug linux) to specifically track the issue
for muting the speakers when headphones are plugged in. That way the
new bug will have the appropriate hw info attached. Please let us know
the new bug # here. Thanks!
