Public bug reported: Binary package hint: brasero
The update to brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 broke DVD playback on my Karmic- machine. libdvdread failed on multiple titles to seek to certain positions, causing DVD-playback to either don't start at all or crash in the middle of the movie. This happened both in VLC and in (S)Mplayer. After reverting back to brasero 2.27.92-0ubuntu2 and rebooting the world was back to normal. I suspect the commit in question that messed things up was (from the changenotes): "- fix a potential data corruption with dvdcss and libisofs in certain conditions" ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Thu Oct 1 10:09:47 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 NonfreeKernelModules: wl fglrx Package: brasero 2.27.92-0ubuntu2 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=de_AT.UTF-8 LANG=de_AT.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-11.36-generic SourcePackage: brasero Uname: Linux 2.6.31-11-generic i686 ** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- brasero 2.28.0-0ubuntu1 breaks DVD playback https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439846 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
