Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acpi-support

The power button is ignored by the acpi-support scripts when kpowersave is
running. However kpowersave
does not have any capability to manage what happens when power button is
pressed. It can handle lid events though.

from /etc/acpi/powerbtn.sh

# If gnome-power-manager, kpowersave or klaptopdaemon are running, let
# them handle policy This is effectively the same as 'acpi-support's
# '/usr/share/acpi-support/policy-funcs' file.

I would argue that letting kpowersave handle something that it can't handle is
not the best idea.
Unless I have missed something ?
