I found a way to reactivate the mic: adding "option position_fix=1" to
alsa-base.conf. See this guide for further information:
http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/docs/HD-Audio.html

However, the recording quality is much lower than within the live
session. Even when setting the capture device to max. volume, the
recorded stream is very quiet and contains significant noise. Within the
live session, the recorded stream was much louder, even with the capture
device almost muted, and contained almost no noise!

I compared the PA and ALSA settings in the live system with those of the
installed system (using pacmd and the alsa-info-util script) and saw no
difference. It is totally unclear why it suddenly stops working after
installation and also why the quality is much lower when using the necc.
options "probe_mask=8" and "position_fix=1". I tried other options too
(like "model=toshiba") but they didn't help. Imho, getting the audio to
work is the biggest problem nowadays when installing a linux
distribution...
