Public bug reported: To keep it consistent with the other default directories, the new "Download" directory should be renamed to "Downloads". We have Documents, Pictures, and Videos. Download (non-plural) seems very out of place and is just noticeable enough to be annoying. This could be considered a "Paper Cut".
This also will prevent duplicate directories since many programs, especially Firefox, default to "Downloads" when saving a file. The questions we need answered are, who or what created this directory? Is it there just to be there or did a package/application create it? If it's the latter, please change the "Affects" package accordingly. Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 6, installed via Alternate CD. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: To keep it consistent with the other default directories, the new "Download" directory should be renamed to "Downloads".
