Public bug reported: The documentation I found about the "noatime" mount option told that it breaks only a few applications (mutt, ...).
Why not defining a "relatime" package which would activate the "relatime" mount option for all harddrives ? Otherwise the "nodiratime" and "noatime" options would be activated by default. The applications which actually need this feature would define a dependency to this "relatime" package. It would speed up Ubuntu and save energy without risking a side effect for the applications which actually need it. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: needs-packaging -- relatime mount option set by a package https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/435088 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
