Public bug reported: Adding the option 'text' to the livecd bootup options does not prevent X from starting. Previous releases (ex Jaunty) used to drop you into the login window.
I require this to diagnose a problem with X that causes my computer to freeze on boot I have tested this on two different physical machines and with VirtualBox. I downloaded the latest alpha, removed the 'quiet splash' options from the kernel boot options and replaced them with 'text' and pushed enter. Sorry if this is the wrong package. I couldn't really figure out what package this should belong to. ** Affects: ubuntu-cdimage Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 'text' mode boots into X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/434210 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
