I'm attaching 10periodic from /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ This file gets a new timestamp when I try to make changes in the GUI and seems to save changes. However the only setting that will show up correctly in the GUI is: "Check for updates: Daily" with "Install security updates without confirmation"
