sound HW: Intel 828010 (ICH9 family) To get enough volume I had to add followint to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf: options snd cards_limit=1 options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo-ms7195-dig
Note, all OK with Ubu-9.04 since install with all updates. With 9.10 initially worked, then some changes caused problems with headphones, which was fixed a few weeks ago, but very shortly after it NO SOUND but ogg123 and xine do not recognize a problem, nor can I set anything as there are no preferences to set (there used to be).
