Below, upstream author's response about this bug :

"Maybe it is a problem with the keyboard layout. KeePassX can only auto-type 
characters which are present in the active keyboard layout, if a char is not 
found then the Xlibs will cause a crash. I will try to implement a test before 
auto-typing to avoid such crashs in future versions.
But in general i don't think that it will ever be possible to use non-keyboard 
chars for auto-typing."

Could you confirm that you try to autotyping a password with a character
which isn't in your keyboard layout ?
