I'm seeing the same error on the XFCE desktop of Karmic/ Mythbuntu Alpha 6.
I am using a Windows-formatted NTFS USB stick (8GB). On insertion, I get the "cannot get volume.fstype.alternative" popup on the desktop. The stick can be mounted manually by root and used for r/w operations without trouble. lshal output is attached. ** Attachment added: "lshal.txt" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/32050093/lshal.txt -- hal rejects to mount ntfs-3g partition https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/300443 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
