I'm having the same problem on my sister's dv9000 (dv9201ca). the previous 
installation of Jaunty allowed me to select the Broadcom STA wireless driver to 
but my sister did complain occasional network slowdown. 
Now i've done a fresh install from the same DVD and I do not have a choice of a 
wireless driver in the hardware drivers list.

I've attached a text file containing the output of the "lspci -v"
command showing that the broadcom wireless card 4311 is not visible.
