This also happens on my laptop. Toshiba Portégé 3010CT. with Neomagic graphics chipset.
Usplash is a bit dim on the integrated display. On an attached external display it is almost impossible to see Usplash. When I run "usplash -c" from command line after the system is started and then switch to another virtual console the colors seem to brighten up just before the switch happens. This is a similar effect to the one that happened in my original report with Matrox card just before starting xorg. The "brightening up" behavior seems make Usplash look as, if it was operating correctly. Of course I can not be 100% sure because the colours are bright for a very short time. I also want to point out that I have seen Edgy operate correctly with bright colors. So this bug report is not a matter of taste. -- low visibility and contrast https://launchpad.net/bugs/68514 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
