While stardust85 might should considered wording his reply differently, disabling clicking with the touchpad by default is a *very strange* choice. I also installed Karmic Alpha 5, and was baffled that a functionality that works in every other operating system, and every previous release of Ubuntu, was suddenly broken. Heck, it took me a minute realize I should even *try* the buttons below my touchpad. I assumed it was a bug, and after searching, found this report.
