Public bug reported: Since a couple of weeks (unfortunately I don't know when exactly) X (Gnome with Composite enabled) is randomly freezing on my Karmic box. SSH-Login is still possible, SysRq+K or sending a SIGKILL to Xorg does not work. I have to reboot the system to get a graphical interface again.
The following message is written on the console (serial console in my case): [ 7434.609238] render error detected, EIR: 0x00000010 [ 7434.613231] IPEIR: 0x00000000 [ 7434.613231] IPEHR: 0x60020100 [ 7434.613231] INSTDONE: 0x808fff7f [ 7434.613231] INSTPS: 0x0001f02e [ 7434.613231] INSTDONE1: 0x999fffaa [ 7434.613231] ACTHD: 0x098f0318 [ 7434.613231] page table error [ 7434.613231] PGTBL_ER: 0x01000000 [ 7434.613231] [drm:i915_handle_error] *ERROR* EIR stuck: 0x00000010, masking [ 7562.936018] INFO: task i915/0:847 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
