I really wanted to try Jouko's extensive advice above, but my concern is that should it not work for me, I have a snowball's chance of figuring out how to reverse it; that is why I went with Bryce Harrington's simple suggestion first and got stuck for most of a week just on that.
Are there a few people who can 1) back up what Jouko has suggested and 2) explain how I would back out of those changes should they fail? As it stands, I seem to have restored normal window acceleration and effects just by nuking xorg-driver-fglrx and fglrx-amdcccle, so I am unsure of what I would gain. -- Desktop won't render (garbled) - after installing ATI Radeon Catalyst Control Center - Undefined symbol atiddxAbiDixLookupPrivate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376741 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
