Public bug reported:

This is the first bug I've let apport report 'for' me, so I'm crossing
my fingers. All I can add or confirm just now:

Board is an Asus M3A78-EM , nothing much hanging off it other than an
assortment of USB peripherals and a Firewire disk turned off at the
time.

Software is simply amd64 Karmic, "up to date" as of Sun Sep 13 06:01:11
UTC 2009. No fglrx or any of that.

This is a regression; suspend actually worked [to my surprise] somewhere
around 9.04.

#371239 concerns the same hardware but with the added variable of the
nVidia blob, and a different release than here.

Symptoms: The machine suspends fairly rapidly and restores fairly
rapidly, as it should. The framebuffer comes right back up where it
left off, but the machine seems to have frozen up by that point;
network-manager's gripe that a cable has been disconnected is visible;
I'll have to give it one more cycle and report back as to whether the
clock updates, though that's probably obvious in whatever apport is
coughing up.

...

I've successfully practiced restraint and will put my big whinge about
apport into a bug against apport, which will promptly be marked invalid
because UI papercuts that take more than three sentences to describe are
wishlist bugs and y'all don't do wishlists. ;)

ProblemType: KernelOops
Annotation: This occured during a previous suspend and prevented it from
resuming properly.
