Discussed with DanRabbit in #ayatana we suggest the naming would be drive-harddisk-root to be able to use the g_themed_icon_new_with_default_fallbacks () function.
Then I saw the progress in bug [1] that's using the "distributor-logo", "start-here", "drive-harddisk" order to get the icon. (And it's also more complete as it also got patches for nautilus) However, DanRabbit created an icon in the humanity icon set and it's added to bzr in devices/48/drive-harddisk-root. So, everything is ready to be packaged for karmic but we'll have to go with patches as upstream is in ui freeze.
