The fix for bug #352968 was already staged in Debian unstable, and I've
just synced this over; so it seems to me that the main reason for
removing the package is now resolved?
If you disagree, feel free to reopen the bug, but I generally agree with
Colin that this is a major package we shouldn't remove if there are any
alternatives.
