Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.17-10-generic
Hi, here is the dmesg of the boot, regarding tg3 loading and the card getting up. As you can see it takes a while... this is with edgy, I believe I installed some of these box with dapper in the past and I did not notice such slowness, so maybe it's edgy only. the slowness can be noticed during boot when dhclient is started, instead of immediately showing immediately the dhclient output : "For info, please visit http://www.isc.org/sw/dhcp/ Listening on LPF/eth0/00:18:8b:1e:de:ac dhclient: Sending on LPF/eth0/00:18:8b:1e:de:ac ..." it sits for a while on "Listening on", it looks like it can't get acces to eth0 to get the mac address. this is edgy with all updates as of today of course : Linux xxxxxx 2.6.17-10-generic #2 SMP Tue Dec 5 22:28:26 UTC 2006 i686 GNU/Linux I have repeatedly seen this over at least 3 machines of this kind. I also tried changing the other side of the network link (the switch), it did not change this behavior at all.
