This happened to me also. I had it working just fine the first go around. The second time I had to redo my setup, screwing around and got to deep to fix, and I decided to do the midiubuntu Mutimedia setup before adding anything. After doing the multimedia setup I then tried to do the amd/ati driver but go the: Sorry, the jockey backend crashed. Please file a bug at: ubuntu-bug jockey-common. I am not sure it was the multimedia setup since I did also update. I will try to redo, yup, the setup again with a step by step approach and see what works. Oh! I am going to check out the b43-fwcutter also.
