I installed alpha 4 of the ubuntu 9.10. It seems to be better: the
wireless rate varies up to 54mb/s, internet connection generally does
seem faster. This is all totally subjective though - might just be the
glow of using a nice new ubuntu. Hopefully it was an issue that was
attended to in the new version? I'll have to see if I can find a list of
bugs that were squashed for the new release.

I like using ubuntu a lot, but this problem never occured with the winXP
install that the computer came with. It hurts me to say that; I hope the
problem has gone away.
