Hi, this problem is not yet solved. typically i dont update to new releases very often because things just keep breaking and i am not expert enough in Linux to fix them well. so when i find a release that mostly works for me, i like to stay with it.
when i do update i will certainly let you know, since i use the gdal library a lot. its really quite important to get this bug fixed - at least for scientific geospatial needs... cheers, Vishal Vishal K.
