I have the same error with my inkscape version in karmic alpha 4 and now alpha 5. The problem occurs when using text in drawings and I move away from inkscape to another desktop. Example:
I am working on a state chart drawing on desktop 5, while OpenOffice is on desktop 4. So I have to switch between these tow screens. When I switch from 5 to 4 inkscape produces a crash message "" which can be acknowledged and then I can continue. When I clicked away 5-10 messages (which also involves clicking away 5-10 apport report dialogs) inkscape freezes. However, the problem cannot be reproduced easily.
