  Ubuntu Karmic Alpha 4 fails to start (correct clean install with a MD5
  checked CD) on MacBook Pro 4,1
  
  Steps done:
  - Clean Mac OSX 10.6 install
  - Bootcamp (50-50) partition creation
  - rEFIt installed
  - via rEFIt CD boot
- - Ubuntu installer with custom partition (sda1/2 OSX sda3 data(FAT32) sda4 
swap sda5 ubuntu
+ - Ubuntu installer with custom partition (sda1/2 OSX sda3 data(FAT32) sda4 
swap sda5(EXT4) ubuntu
  - Advanced GRUB install to /dev/sda5
  - Rebooted PC and tried to boot ubuntu (rEFIt shows generic partition and not 
a Pinguin as with 9.04)
  - Got screen as pictured
  
  Any ideas?
