Public bug reported: Hi,
I have a PC that has a problem since many ubuntu versions. Each time I open my session, an horrible sound plays on speakers. Sounds like the old modems but without fluctuation during 3-4 seconds. Then, it stops and the ubuntu melody plays normally. This is very annoying because it is an aggressive sound, especially when I forget to put down the volume of my speakers before powering up my computer. Yesterday, I upgraded from Ubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 9.04 and the problem remains. The computer is a professionnal IBM tower.
