When I start the live CD without the splash and quiet options, there
does not appears to be any errors that come up on boot up. After the
hardware detection, the screen goes black for a second, then returns to
normal and starts the normal startup scripts. While those are being
executed, nothing out of the ordinary comes up. After the scripts are
finished running, I am dumped to a terminal prompt. The only way I can
start the X server is by running "startx" from the prompt.
