Hi,

for me it looks like that you need ti disable "kill switch".
Here is an example:

(hp pavilion ze4900) (disabling the kill switch) as follows:

* Enable LED: sudo su echo 1> "/ sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw2200/0000: 02:06.0 / 
led"
* Press On laptop on the wireless button (with the WLAN LED) and thus disable 
the hardware kill switch
* Finished:
cat "/ sys/bus/pci/drivers/ipw2200/0000: 02:06.0 / rf_kill"
0

I hope you could use the informations from the example for your problem.
