Binary package hint: gnome-applets

sorry cant help further, bit a new user

Computer is a XPC shuttle with 3Ghz P4, Nvidia graph card(driver activated).
The install went well no errors and uses the entire harddisk.
Fresh after the new install the update manager reports new updates are 
available and run the update manager.
Downloading appears to go well but during install this appears: package 
gnome-applets-data 2.26.0-0ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: corrupted 
filesystem tarfile - corrupted package archive
