Sorry if I'm missing something obvious here. Is there in fact a fix? I did try pasting <allow send_interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" send_type="method_call" send_member="Get"/> into system.conf, as suggested by Stephen, but this caused all USB devices to fail.
After enabling backports and pre-release updates I managed to vastly reduce the number of these messages that get logged but I am still getting the message: Sep 1 12:30:01 gutenberg dbus-daemon: Rejected send message, 1 matched rules; type="method_call", sender=":1.34" (uid=1000 pid=3193 comm="/usr/lib/indicator-applet/indicator-applet --oaf-a") interface="org.freedesktop.DBus.Properties" member="Get" error name="(unset)" requested_reply=0 destination=":1.42" (uid=0 pid=3539 comm="/USR/SBIN/CRON ")) every time CRON runs or I try doing something like su. -- "dbus-daemon: Rejected send message" for indicator-applet spams /var/log/auth.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346513 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
