Once I run

sudo chgrp lp /dev/bus/usb/008/004
sudo chmod 664 /dev/bus/usb/008/004

then lsusb gives the following output:

Bus 008 Device 004: ID 04b8:0005 Seiko Epson Corp. Stylus D88+

whereas sudo lsusb gives:
