Nope, I meant prior to first attempt. The screenshot is taken upon fresh boot. I can replicate it every time by booting, starting gnome-terminal, then ps ax | grep -i backends
always returns what was shown in the screenshot. I'll give the debug symbols a shot tomorrow.
