Hi! I would like to reopen this bug because I have just encountered the phenomenon as described in the bug title and the description under it. "Steps to repeat: 1. Attach external media 2. Receive external media mount error described above 3. Leaving first media device attached, attempt to attach second media device 4. Second media device mounts successfully" The only difference is that I run Jaunty and the error message is: Cannot mount volume. You are not privileged to mount this volume. Later another message appeares: Unable to mount XXX media. DBus error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus) Checked if it is a policy issue as described elsewhere (sudo polkit-gnome-authorization) but granting extra right to allow to mount removable media for me as a user does not help at all. Proper right OK as checked under System > Administration Users and Groups.
See attached reports udev.log, devices-1.txt, devices-2.txt, dmesg-1.txt, dmesg-2.txt, lshal-1.txt, lshal-2.txt. ('-1' means 1st device connected, '-2' means 1st and 2nd devices connected. 'Devices' are regular pen drives. ** Attachment added: "udev.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31017968/udev.log -- First USB Drive Will Not Mount, Second Mounts Successfully https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278326 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
