Public bug reported:

I am testing koala and most days I update by running the following 2 commands.
sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude safe-upgrade

My system is a Compaq iPaq with a 933 MHz P3 and 512 meg of ram and 80
gig of hard disk. I used the Alpha 4 alternate installer to install.
My swap partition is encrypted with a random password. My /boot
partition is ext2 and unencrypted. My / and /usr partitions are logical
volumes on an encrypted volume group.

After the update on Aug 26, the system hangs on boot. The last line on the
screen says:
modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting padlock_sha
(/lib/modules/2.6.31-7-generic/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-sha.ko): No such
device

The file /lib/modules/2.6.31-7-generic/kernel/drivers/crypto/padlock-
sha.ko exists and is the same size as the one from the 2.6.31-6 kernel
which still boots fine.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
